About Līmū

Chef Nino Ferreri was born in 1989 in Trabia, near Palermo, and grew up immersed in the rich culinary traditions of Sicily. His passion for cooking developed early and led him to train in renowned kitchens across Italy and Europe, including Belgium and Switzerland.

A defining influence in his career is his mentor Felix Lo Basso, alongside whom Chef Nino refined his craft over several years, eventually becoming Sous Chef at the Michelin-starred Unico in Milan during Expo 2015. These formative experiences shaped a personal culinary philosophy rooted in teamwork, technique and deep respect for raw ingredients.

After returning to Sicily as Executive Chef of Hotel Villa Athena in Agrigento, Chef Nino consolidated his vision of contemporary Sicilian cuisine, guided by four pillars: tradition, territory, technique and talent. He later opened Līmū in Bagheria, housed in a historic 16th-century watchtower, where his cooking celebrates seasonality, simplicity and the finest local produce. At Līmū, each dish is designed to express the true essence of Sicily’s land, history and flavours.

About One-Ninety Restaurant

Inspired from a young age by both his grandmothers, Chef Valerio Pierantonelli’s love for cooking was shaped in family kitchens where passion and generosity mattered as much as technique. These early influences formed the foundation of his culinary philosophy- one rooted in humility, respect for ingredients, and the belief that nature provides the finest starting point for any dish.

His culinary journey has taken him across the world, refining his craft while discovering new cultures and ingredients. Early experiences, including volunteering at Italy’s Sagra dell’Amatriciana festival, deepened his appreciation for culinary heritage and community. Particularly drawn to seafood for its delicacy and depth of flavour, his cooking balances finesse with bold, honest expression.

At One-Ninety Restaurant, he leads the kitchen as Chef de Cuisine with a collaborative spirit, creating thoughtful, flavour-driven dishes that honour tradition while embracing a contemporary sensibility, each crafted to be enjoyed, shared, and remembered.
